Answer the Call

We got the opportunity to attend our first "the C.A.L.L. of Arkansas" meeting last night. (thanks to Sarah coming over to hang out with Jax for a little while)
The Call stands for "Children of Arkansas loved for a lifetime" and it's an organization that recruits chistian familes to answer the call to care for orphans by fostering and adopting.

We are really excited about this and are starting the process of becoming foster/adoptive parents. And we see Christ clearly in this process.

Christ calls us. All throughout the bible. It's clear who we are to be and what we are to be. And I'm tired of things standing in the way of gripping that call and not letting it go.

Even circles of christians have come up with excuses and convinced themselves that these clear, direct calls do not apply to them. (maybe the fanatical, but not me...) but lets be honest. Christ only divided the crowds into wheat and chaff... not the sold out, the fanatical, the comfortable, the exceptions and the half-hearted. He called us all.
He called us to go.
He called us to preach the gospel.
He called to care for the poor, the needy.
He called us to take in the orphans and the widows.

The church the hosted the meeting last night was Keypoint in Bentonville. Their slogan is "Christ is key. People are the point"
Simple, I know...but it's sort of mind blowing also.

There's people at my job that might be hard to love, there's neighbors that I haven't gotten to meet yet, there's family that don't see there need for christ, there's friends that might not understand our desire to take in orphans and obey Christ in this way....but each one of those scenarios, Christ is key and people are the point.

Not Stuff.
Not Money.
Not Entertainment.
Not Retirement.
Not ANY thing the world has to offer.

People are the point.

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."  James 1:27

From our hearts,
