12:17, April 2nd

For the past three days, my life has been stuck at 12:17, April 2nd. And I think I could live off that moment in time for the rest of my life.

4:00 am. The morning began.  Getting ready to go the hospital for the second time that week to get induced and see if Jax was ready to join the world. On Tuesday, we spent the enitre day at the doctor's office and then at the hospital with test labor, to no avail. They sent us home.
But on Thursday, we felt confident that something would happen, one way or another. But 7:00, labor had been induced and my water had been broken.

11:30. The nurse came in to read the monitor after one large contraction. She calmly told me that she was going to put me on oxygen and go call my doctor. I said okay, not knowing why. Kyle, holding my hand, reassured me. A moment later, Dr. Dunham came in and read the monitor print out, and pulled up beside the bed and began discussing what was happening.
After four hours of induced laboring, I was still only at a one and Jax seemed to be in distress already and it wasn't looking like he was going to do well if aggressive labor continued. So he talked to us about doing a c-section. In a matter of moments that seemed blurry and in slow motion, I was prepped and rolled away. Under large surgical lights, I experienced many things for the first time, all of which I admit scared me. but with Kyle holding my hand and watching what was going on behind the curtain, I knew I'd make it through.

12:17. Jaxon Prentice Meredith entered the my world.

Kyle and I was are so thankful for how God has worked in our lives. We feel privileged that he works all things for his good. We found out later that day that Jax was face up and had the cord around his neck. There are so many things that we, as Christians and humans can't understand inside a single situation, but God works every detail for his glory .

We are all home now and doing well. Jaxon is feeding amazingly, which is a huge answer to prayer. I am recovering and we are both falling in love with our son, minute by minute.

* Note: I have not posted pictures yet but the most beautiful pictures of April 2nd, are at www.studioYOUnique.com. ( click on our photos, look for the JPM album and the password is jax) My amazing friend Kristin blessed us by being there that day and capturing all the many amazing faces that we saw.
