Pa Rum Pum Pum Pum

Since our house is for sale, a lot of our stuff is in storage. And we honestly didn't expect to still be in this house by christmas, so you can guess where all the holiday decorations are, save a few gold trees that were in our garage. And quite frankly I didn't feel like dragging it all out of storage just to put it back again shortly.

And I've been convicted this year about all the silly things we do all the time that I'm sure God things is meaningless (don't believe me? read Isaiah)

So, in effort to keep things simple this year and to keep things all about Jesus...my christmas decorating took 30 seconds flat.
Jesus is the most important thing to us. And we fail at bringing him adequate glory, praise and offerings but I want to give him everything I have. For the first time, I truly identify with the Little Drummer Boy.

Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.

Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?

Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.

So this year, these three gold trees, these three presents and that elephant are arranged specifically to remind me to live simply at christmas and to simply give it all to Jesus. To want to honor him, to give my best to him and have him smile at me.
That's a merry christmas!
